Now Whatsapp is not
only a messaging or chatting app but it has started offering transfer of money
from one bank account to another bank account through UPI (Unified Payment interface) and NPCI (National payment corporation of India). Whatsapp pay has
emerged as major threat to its counterpart phone pay, paytm and many more.
Whatsapp has launched its payment option initially with 1 million its user and
planning to launch with all across India among 200 million user coming days. Whatsapp has launched this digital initiative in collaboration with Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and HDFC bank. Now we will see how Whatsapp
payment option works:
What are
pre-requisites to use Whatsapp payment option?
1. An android mobile with Whatsapp application installed and registered.
2. Mobile number of Whatsapp application should
be registered with your bank account.
Process of Using Whatsapp Payment:
v Open
Whatsapp on your mobile
v Go
to setting option of Whatsapp
v Click
on payment option under setting of Whatsapp application
v Select
bank in which you have account
v After
selecting bank name, account number will be displayed
v Select
account number and proceed
v Now
you will be asked to enter your debit card number and expiry date of your card
v After
entering all these details, you will be asked to enter OTP from your mobile
phone
v Now
you have set UPIN for your account.
v Now
you are ready to send and receive payment from anyone through Whatsapp.
All these steps may
be skipped if you are already using any UPI app like BHIM, SBI BHIM Pay, PAYTM,
PHONEPAY etc.

How to
transfer fund using Whatsapp payment:
1.
Open chat of person in your Whatsapp
application to whom you wish to send money.
2.
Click on attachment option at bottom
(Option we used to use to send picture through Whatsapp)
3.
Select payment
4.
Enter amount , Click on send option
5.
You will be asked to enter UPIN of
six digit
6.
Payment completed
Sending money
though Whatsapp is as easy as sending picture to anyone.

Don’t have Whatsapp
payment option in my mobile
Now it is possible
that payment option does not appear in your Whatsapp application. If it happens
then you need to search a Whatsapp of a friend who has payment option in his Whatsapp.
Ask him to send you any amount like Re. 1.00 or any amount. You will now be
able to see Whatsapp payment option in your mobile.
